What we make
Every GiftBookStory book is a complete, original story written by AI from the ground up for one specific recipient. The protagonist is the person you're buying for. The supporting cast are the people they actually know. The setting is a place they actually live. The running jokes are inside jokes only the two of you would understand.
Books contain 19 chapters plus an epilogue, printed as a professional 6×9 softcover paperback (152×228mm — the standard bookshop paperback size) or casewrap hardback and delivered to your door. A digital PDF of every book is included free with every print order.
Who it's for
GiftBookStory is built for adult-to-adult gift giving. The most common use cases are birthday gifts for friends, partners and parents; retirement gifts for departing colleagues; Father's Day and Mother's Day; anniversaries and milestone celebrations; and "just because" gifts for hard-to-buy-for adults.
We do not make children's picture books. For children under 8, services like Wonderbly, Lullaby, or Magical Children's Book are better-suited alternatives.
How a book is generated
Every GiftBookStory book runs through a four-stage server-side pipeline:
- Plan.A large language model produces a chapter-by-chapter outline based on the recipient's details and chosen genre.
- Bounded parallel drafting. Nineteen chapters and an epilogue are drafted in controlled parallel batches rather than sequentially. Each draft references the same plan and character notes; the full creation and rendering flow typically takes about 30 minutes after purchase.
- Validation. Each chapter is checked for known failure modes (mid-sentence endings, smart-quote leakage, factual contradictions). Chapters that fail validation are regenerated.
- Stitching and rendering. Validated chapters are stitched together, formatted into a professionally typeset PDF, and sent to our print partner for printing and shipping.

Privacy and data
All customer answers and generated stories are stored in a private Supabase database with row-level security. We are GDPR compliant. We never sell or share your data with third parties — the questionnaire answers are used only to generate the recipient's book.
