Personalised Book Delivery Times

The short answer: a GiftBookStory digital book is normally ready in about 30 minutes after purchase. A printed softcover or hardback is typically delivered 7–14 business days after printing. Those are separate stages: the five-minute questionnaire is not the finished-book time.

The three stages

1. Questionnaire: about five minutes for the essential details, longer if you add richer memories.
2. Digital creation: normally about 30 minutes after payment for planning, writing, validation and PDF assembly.
3. Print and delivery: production begins after the files are ready; delivery is typically 7–14 business days after printing.

UK print orders use a UK fulfilment route. US and Canadian orders use a North American route. Supported destinations and the final delivery estimate are confirmed during checkout.

When to order for a fixed date

For a birthday, anniversary or leaving party, allow at least two weeks for a printed book and more during peak periods. A three-week margin is safer around Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or a workplace date that cannot move.

If the date is close, choose the digital edition or give the included PDF first while the printed copy follows. Do not assume an overnight courier can remove the print-production stage.

What can delay an order

Generation may pause if a book fails an automated quality check. Print production can also be affected by file review, address questions, peak demand or carrier disruption. Keep the confirmation email and contact support with the order reference if the current status is unclear.
